Dryer vent cleaning is an optional add on, but it is highly recommended as a neglected or dirty dryer vent can pose a huge fire hazard. There are countless dryer fires in North America that are mainly caused by lack of cleaning. If you notice your clothes are taking longer to dry than usual, it may be time for a dryer vent cleaning. Our team cleans the dryer vents on most duct cleaning jobs. It is much more cost effective to have this done during a duct cleaning instead of a stand alone dryer vent cleaning. If you get this done during your duct cleaning it is $50, compared to $100 if you call us just to have your dryer vent cleaned.

Yes, every duct cleaning package we offer comes with a furnace cleaning and visual inspection. Our technicians will test the furnace before and after the cleaning to ensure it is working properly. If any repairs or maintenance are needed on the furnace, our duct cleaning technicians will recommend that our expert service technician comes out for a service call.

There are a few things that will help our technicians provide the best and most efficient service. Our team will typically send a warning text a few days prior to your appointment with a list of things to prepare.
A few of the main things include:
-Making sure there is a parking spot for our vehicle outside of your home
-Make sure there is a clear path from your front door to your furnace room, and that your furnace and area around it are easily accessible
-If you have pets, please make sure they are secure as we need to open the front or back door quite often. We love pets, but we would hate to lose one!
-If there are any items blocking and supply or return air vents, please have those items moved.

We find all sort of treasures and junk in ducts and furnaces. Our coolest discovery was an heirloom diamond ring. This ring belonged to the previous owners of the house, and the current owners were able to track them down and give the ring back. This was found because we had used the brush system, which is an optional service we offer for $50. Most of our clients choose to add on the brush system because it allows for a much more thorough cleaning. These ducts had been cleaned previously by another company, and the ring was not found. As soon as we cleaned it with our brush system, it popped right out of the vent! We also find a lot of junk in vents, so not everything is as valuable as the ring. Other things we have found in furnaces are an empty yop bottle from 2007, a burnt tennis ball, a Batz Maru toy, kids toys, a lemon, and more. Check out our Duct Cleaning Chronicles on our gallery section to see all the treasures we find!

Our service area is about a 1 hour radius from Red Deer. Our work is mostly local but we do many jobs in Sylvan Lake, Blackfalds, Lacombe & Penhold. We have even done work in Stettler, Olds, Innisfail, and Eckville. This applies to all of our services, not just duct cleaning. On occasion we are also travelling to Ponoka, Rocky Mountain House, Delburne, and other rural areas.

There are a few factors that can play a role in determining how often to have your ducts cleaned. A general rule of thumb is every 2-4 years. If you have shedding pets, have recently completed a renovation (especially with drywall dust), or if you live in an area with construction happening, you may need to get your ducts cleaned more often. Even more important than cleaning your ducts is having your furnace serviced. We have a dedicated service team that deals with repairing and maintaining all heating and cooling equipment, including furnaces. We recommend an annual furnace maintenance, which is typically around $150 depending on your location. It is crucial to ensure your furnace is in tip top shape for the winter heating season.

If you have a central air conditioner, we will air wash the indoor AC coil for $25. We will make sure this coil is free of any dust or debris to maximize efficiency. Our technicians can even show you pictures of what we find in your vents. Cleaning the outdoor AC unit is not included, but this is a service that we offer. Our service technician would be the one to do this, and the typical cost for an AC maintenance / service is $159 + tax.

The cleaning process is not too too loud. Outside where the compressor is can be pretty noisy, and so is the furnace room area. But you can definitely stay in the house during the whole cleaning process. If your duct cleaning happens to be done during very cold weather, it can get a little cool in the house as the job takes 3-4 hours, and your door will be opened periodically. Majority of our clients are in the home while we perform the furnace and duct cleaning.

By cleaning your furnace and ducting you will minimize the risk of an unexpected costly breakdown. Your equipment will be clean and free of any dust / dirt build up that can potentially cause damage to your furnace. Removing dust and dirt from your furnace motor / blower wheel and AC coil, will increase the efficiency of your system which will save you money on your utility bills. A clean system does not need to work as hard, and will also last longer. Removing contaminants which can include pollen, mold, dust, and even pet hair from your ducts helps to achieve better indoor air quality which can help to minimize reactions from allergies and asthma. If you have completed a renovation this is also a great time to get rid of all of that drywall dust in your furnace / ducting.

Every job our team performs is done to the highest quality level, which is the reason our cleanings take approximately 3-4 hours per job. Many other companies are in and out of your house in 1.5 hours, but we want to make sure the job is performed thoroughly. We provide a highly detailed checklist of the job which will highlight what we have done in your home, and if you have any questions, our technicians will be happy to answer them for you.
